Who Knew? This started as a 'useful little idea' last week, a way to provide a useful free service for lay people and medical practitioners alike. By Wednesday, it was clear we were going to have to reorganize everything to make room for Oncolynx.

And, so ... as the estimated size of the links database, site search engine and other documents pertaining to Health & Healing queries so far exceed 85Mb, we will be providing the Oncolynx database pro tem from our server in Alexandria, VA, prior to the transfer to our secondary server in Dallas , Texas, which will begin this Friday evening and conclude - we live in hope - on Saturday.

Because we've had considerably more response than we anticipated, we have decided to devote the entire server in Dallas to Oncolynx.

As we have had a number of inquiries in Canada, we have dedicated space in our Kanata-based server to provide faster retrieval for Canadian-originated queries. All CMA-based hunt results will be replicated at Kanata. That process will be run this weekend, after the Dallas transfer is done.

A second site, which we have tentatively named Medilynx, will be made available for non-cancer related inquiries. Oncolynx has already begun processing a request for an Alzheimer's Disease database, which began at 8 o'clock this morning. This database will also be availble from OWL.

The Ophiuchus Society site will continue to be here, and access will continue be via this site. We will be providing general headings of inquiry as gateways to sections of the database, which should make the size and scope less daunting.

N.B. When uisng the Oncolynx resources, which are sorted by title, access the page by clicking 'source', not by clicking on the hyperlinked title. People have a habit of moving things around, and Oncolynx makes every effort to find the title inside the documents on the site, which is not necessarily where conventional search engines think they are.
